Frequently Asked Questions
Hello Montevideo Parents, Teachers and Friends,
Here is some insider information about the “Totally Awesome 80’s” Gala and some answers to frequently asked questions:
How Do I Get Into Crow Canyon Country Club?
The Club address is 711 Silver Lake Drive in Danville. There is a security kiosk at the Crow Canyon Country Club entrance. Just pull up to the kiosk and let the guard know you are there for the event at the Club. After he/she admits you, drive a block or so and the Club will be on the left.
Do I Need a Physical Ticket?
No, your ticket is virtual. If you purchased a ticket, your name will be on a list when you check in at the event.
What Time Should I Be There?
The auction gala will begin at 5:30pm. Seating for dining is “open” so you will want to get there early to ensure you get a seat to your liking.
What Should I Wear?
You are likely to see at least one Madonna and rumor has it that Michael Jackson, Magnum PI and Crockett and Tubbs may show up before the night is over. So put on your best 80’s attire in tribute to your favorite character or dress in something casual and join us for a rad night!
How Will the Bar Be Stocked?
Crow Canyon Country Club’s full bar and two bartenders have just about anything you can dream up! The bar will also have available non-alcoholic drinks like soda and water. It will be a cash bar. The bar will accept cash, Visa or MasterCard, no bidder numbers. We will again have wine items available to bid on and you are welcome to enjoy the bottle that you purchased on site. The club will charge a modest $10 corkage fee.
What Will There Be To Eat?
Three different types of hors d’oeuvres will be passed by hand by the banquet staff. Dinner will be served and will be comprised of a Mixed Salad, Chicken and a Salmon Filet as well as fresh seasonal vegetables, rolls and butter and coffee or tea. If you would like a vegetarian meal please indicate so when purchasing your ticket online or via RSVP card in the school office. Please alert one of the auction committee members when you check-in if you have any food allergies. A slice of chocolate cake will be served for dessert. If you are one of the lucky winners in the dessert auction you can choose to eat your prize at the gala. The Live Auction will begin immediately following dinner.
Will Teachers Be There?
Yes! More than 20 teachers, aides, staff and their guests will attend this year, and are highly anticipating chatting with you outside of school! As always, there will be a special auction item donated by our magnificent teachers.
What Is This Year's Fund-A-Need Topic?
Fund-A-Need is a "last call" after the Live Auction to request cash donations to fund a specific school item. This year's topic is ... “Science Lab”. If you've been outbid on the Silent and Live Auction items, and/or if you feel strongly about ensuring that our children have a science lab complete with the latest technology, here is your chance to contribute! The auctioneer will be asking for donations at all monetary levels--no amount is too large or too small!
What Music Will We Be Dancing To?
This year Amos Productions will be spinning our favorite records from the 80’s. In addition to the DJ, there will be a photo booth available with props from the 80’s to capture the moment for you and your friends.
How Do I Pay For Items?
You will be assigned a bidder number when you check in. You are highly encouraged to scan your credit card (VISA, MasterCard and Discover only) during check in to avoid delays during the checkout process. During the evening use your bidder number to play a game of Plinko or the Tower Records cassette pull and silent and live auction items. At the end of the night, after the checkout desk has opened, you can review your bill and collect your winnings. If you choose NOT to scan your credit card at check in, you will be directed to another line where you may settle the bill via credit card, cash or check. All items must be paid for by the time you leave at the end of the evening. If you are planning only to pay by cash, please let the check in volunteers know when you arrive. Auction item check-out will begin 30 minutes following the closing of the Live Auction and Fund-A-Need.
Remember, Montevideo’s “Totally Awesome 80’s” Gala is your chance to socialize with other Montevideo parents and raise funds for a really good cause—the educational enrichment of our children. So, encourage your friends to buy tickets and join you in the fund-raising and the fun! Ticket sales are available until March 17th and will NOT be sold at the door!
